MacBook supports extended desktop

The new Apple MacBooks support extended desktop video:

Extended desktop and video mirroring: Simultaneously supports full native resolution on the built-in display and up to 1920 x 1200 pixels on an external display, both at millions of colors

That’s a nice bonus. So finally, the low-end Mac units basically support two monitors, albeit with a weaker graphics card, but at least it’s not crippled. I’m guessing then that there will be no MacBook Pro offering in the 12″ range, and this pretty much rounds out their offering for laptops for now.

Which in the end sounds like a decent enough lineup. I like the option for black – that’s a nice bonus too. And it’s got plenty of power, sports a wider native 1280 by 800 resolution monitor, and is expandable to a respectable two gigabytes of RAM. Not a bad deal for the price, IMO.
