About

What is this site about?

This website is the personal domain of Joe Lewis. It includes information on topics such as web design, Mac OS X, Macromedia Dreamweaver development, classical music and double bass playng, digital security, and whatever else comes to mind. My weblog goes far beyond that though.

Who is Joe?

I do web and graphics work. I am a specialist in web security, and worked for several major Internet security technology companies managing their websites. I have directed corporate web presences, graphic design, and branding for security software companies as Certicom, RSA Security, and Persistence Software.

I was originally trained as a classical musician, and worked as a double bassist for several years before turning to my far geekier current role. I have performed in many orchestras, with performances with such conductors as Seiji Ozawa, Simon Rattle and Michael Tilson Thomas. I specialized in the performance of contemporary music and chamber works.

Even though my career is as a web developer, I still play in an orchestra every week.
